SAVE A LIFE, ADOPT A PET
If you’re looking for a pet this is the best way to find one. You can look in your location. These pets are taken much better care of than the ones in the pet stores. I’m not saying all pet stores, but most. I have adopted dogs in my home, and they’re healthy, sweet ones. I have four dogs and one cat. We’ve never had any health problems with them.
Puppy mills are just so horrible, you don’t even want to know the facts! There is a federal law, the Animal Welfare Act, and many states have laws that purport to regulate them, but the fact is that those laws are rarely enforced.
Pet stores often tell customers that their puppies come from local breeders or quality breeders. Don’t believe them! Ask to see the paperwork!
If the people of the United States refused to buy a puppy in a pet store, the misery of puppy mills would end. Please tell everyone you know about the puppy mill and pet store connection.
Buying a puppy in a pet store has significant risks for the purchaser and their family. A state funded survey in California found that nearly half of the puppies sold in pet stores were sick or incubating diseases. This doesn’t count the ones suffering from genetic diseases. Imagine bringing a puppy home from a pet store only to have it die from parvo and cost thousands of dollars in vet expenses because of genetic problems like hip dysplasia.

Glad you posted this. Everyone should know that it’s not good to buy from those pet stores. I got our 3 year old labrador from our local pet shelter and there are lots of other pets that needs a good home.

If I were in the market to get a dog again, I would definitely adopt!
