Hop on the trolley in downtown Fort Lauderdale’s Riverwalk Arts & Entertainment District on Fridays and Saturdays to experience the lighthearted energy of Las Olas Boulevard. The Sun Trolley is a “Wave and Ride” system, so there are no distinct trolley stops. All you have to do is wait somewhere along the route and a driver will pick you up!

There are a lot of free things to do in Fort Lauderdale. Sun Trust Sunday Jazz Brunch is a perfect way to enjoy and relax the scenic Riverwalk. It’s a free, live outdoor concert series that brings the best local jazz artists together for everyone to enjoy. There’s three different stages to listen to the soulful sounds on. They play on the first Sunday of every month from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Isle Casino SATURDAY NITE ALIVE returns for the fourth spectacular season this summer. This FREE event is part of the best of Fort Lauderdale Beach for 10 really fun Saturday nights. It goes from June 1st through August 3rd. 7:00 – 11:00 p.m. The line up includes more than 20 exciting acts, Billy Bones, Taiko Drummers, Swahili, House of Flying Cards, Rafael & ligia and the Bahamian Junkanoo Revue. Saturday Nite Alive also teamed up with beach hotels, restaurants and bars to offer dining and drink specials, along with parking rates.

Sea Turtle Nesting season is upon us, March – October. Nearly 90% of sea turtle nesting in the U.S. occurs in Florida. These creatures will return to their home beaches to lay eggs. Greater Fort Lauderdale’s coastal residents and beach visitors can help sea turtles during the nesting season by keeping beaches clean, being aware of nesting sites and reducing artificial lighting near beaches that can distract and confuse mothers and hatchlings. Sea turtle hatchlings use light and reflections from the moon to find their way to the water at night. Artificial lighting discourages adult females from nesting on the beach.
