Strawberry Dessert #Recipe
We ate this whole thing in a day and a half! That’s very unusual for us, we don’t eat much desserts!
I just made this today. I tweaked another recipe I have for the Mandarin Orange Dessert.
So you might have to play around a little with the liquid part. For the Orange Dessert I always use frozen concentrated juice. But I couldn’t find any strawberry so I used just plain juice. It made it a bit thin. So if you can use a blender or chopper for the strawberries without any liquid, that’s what I would do.
I froze the dessert at first, and that worked perfectly. I just don’t want to keep it in the freezer. It’s just too hard then. But I’ll tell you, it is delicious, if I do say so myself! I just love it! Here are some photos so you can see how it looks.
Also, I put chocolate graham crackers on the top. Next time, I’m just going to use pink sugar (like in the lower photo).
Now on this one is where I actually have the pink sugar sprinkled on. Don’t you think that looks a lot better?
Strawberry Dessert
Cooks in Serves 15
Ingredients
- 9 x 13 Cake Pan
- 1 Pkg. Fresh Strawberries
- 1 Can Sweetened Condensed Milk
- 1 Tub Cool whip
- 1/4 C Strawberry Juice
- 1 1/2 C Chocolate Graham Cracker Crumbs
- 2/3 C Melted Butter
Directions
- First I get the Cool Whip out to bring it to room temperature.
- For the Crust, combine the Graham Cracker Crumbs and melted butter. Then spread in the bottom of the pan.
- To make the heart strawberries, I just sliced a thin piece off of each side, then cut a small part out at the top, middle, to form a heart shape.
- The rest of the inside of the stawberry is used when chopping them.
- After slicing enough of those for the top (how ever many you want)
- I put the strawberries in a chopper (or blender) I used some Strawberry Juice for that, just about 1/4 C. If you can chop them without liquid, do that.
- In a large bowl, combine the Cool Whip, Condensed Milk and Chopped Strawberries.
- Spread over the crust.
- Place heart stawberries on top
- Sprinkle with pink sugar.
- Refrigerate (I had to freeze mine, because I used too much juice)
- That\\\\\\\'s it! ENJOY!
If you make this I’d love to hear how it turned out, especially with no liquid (juice).
