How To Make Jell-O Cupcakes and Frosting #Recipe
I made some Jell-O flavored cupcakes with Jell-O frosting.
These are so tasty! You can so totally taste each flavor! The frosting recipe is from Elgin Harvest, so you can get that recipe here.
As you can see, I tried different Wilton tips for decorating. The one I could do best was of course, the pink with the little flowers. I’m just getting started with all this decorating, so hopefully I’ll get better as I go.
I’ve been wanting to try Jell-O Cupcakes for some time now. And I finally got to it. I love the texture of the frosting. One of the flavors I used was Peach and I had to use a lot to get any color. The texture was so cool for that one!
I also made cherry, that’s the pink one. You could use more Jell-O if you want the color to be brighter. I had used some in the cupcake mix and I didn’t have a lot left. (I should have bought two boxes of each color).
And lemon is the third flavor. It came out nice and yellow, you can’t really tell that from the photo. That’s my son’s favorite one. He loves lemon.
After mixing just a white cake mix, I divided it into three bowls (or however many flavors you’re using). Then added 3/4 – 1 whole box of each flavor of Jell-O to each bowl.
So with the flavoring in the mix and the frosting you have really tasteful Jell-o cupcakes.
After getting the frosting colored, I take one color and spoon it onto a piece of Saran Wrap, twist both ends, cut off a small piece at one end, then drop into a piping bag. You can also take a tall glass and put the piping bag over it, bending it down over the sides of the glass. This makes it so much easier, and clean up is a breeze.
I hope you enjoy these when you make them! Let me know if you have any tips!
Thanks for stopping by! I really appreciate you!
