Homemade Twix Cake Recipe
It was my daughter’s birthday and Twix candy bars are her favorite, so I made her a Twix Cake! And Ice Cream too.
We loved it! It turned out so good!
My daughter turned 26! Time goes by too fast! Two of my older kids live out of state and I miss them more than I ever imagined I would. I thought sure my son would move down here to GA after we did. But he wants to stay in Ohio. He has a really good job there now and of course, all his friends and some family. Well, I want him to be happy so I think he’s in the right place. I just wish I could see him more often.
And my other daughter lives up there too. She has four kids and I miss them terribly! The kids are growing up so fast I can’t believe it when I see them. I feel like I’m missing out on their lives so much. My daughter had breast cancer but she’s cancer-free now, Thank God! But I wish I would have been living close to her back then. (Almost a year ago).
Over Labor Day week-end we’re going up there and I can’t wait to see everyone! Anyway, sorry, here’s the cake – The doggie cake sign is just something I found at Michael’s I thought was so cute! And I do have 3 dogs.
- 1 Box Chocolate Cake Mix
- 3 Eggs
- ⅓ C Melted Butter
- ½ C Chocolate Milk
- 1 Small Box of Chocolate Instant Pudding
- 2 C Sour Cream
- 4 Twix Bars Finely Chopped
- Preheat oven to 350F
- Prepare two 9 inch pans with cooking spray and a little flour.
- Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl.
- Mix on low with your mixer to incorporate all ingredients. Then mix on medium high, scraping bowl. Continue to mix for 2½ minutes. Stir in the chopped up Twix. (I chopped the Twix up in a small food chopper)
- Divide the batter between both pans.
- Cook for 35-40 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool for 10 minutes on a cooling rack. Turn over and cool completely.
- For the frosting I used the Buttercream Frosting Recipe (Link is at the bottom)
- Just add the chopped up Twix and frost the first layer, put the 2nd layer of cake on, and frost it.
- I got some Twix Bites to put on the top
Recipe for the Buttercream Chocolate Frosting is here.
Recipe for the Twix Ice Cream is here.
I made her this little cake to put the candles on. She thought that was pretty special. I like these smaller ones! Don’t you? I can’t wait to make more of these and decorate them.
Thank you so much for stopping by! I really appreciate it! Please leave me a comment with anything you’d like to say or questions. I really do love hearing from everyone!
