Perfectly located as a base for all that Western NC has to offer, the Village of Tryon is close to Asheville, the Biltmore Estate & the Blue Ridge Parkway. I’ve passed the sign for Tryon numerous times on my way to Charlotte, but had no idea such a charming jewel was just a few miles down the road.

Tryon has two quaint B&Bs – the award-winning Pine Crest Inn and the Melrose Inn. With the recent 2014 opening of the Tryon International Equestrian Center and Resort, Tryon continues to offer an eclectic mix of music, art and entertainment. Tryon remains the friendliest town in the south.

This is what I found most interesting:
Morris the Horse, a well loved landmark standing on the corner of Trade and Pacolet Streets, has proudly represented Tryon since 1928.
I love that they have had that cute horse standing in town for 87 years. Most towns would have removed it by now.
I love the small town to raise a family– the different cultures to make up the town– the different event through out the town during the year that all can be involved =a great place to live, a fun place to visit–from wines, antiques,to events,
I love the things that you can see, from wines, to art, to times if old, I love that there is so much in a small town and that its a great place to raise a family
I learned that Tryon served as a destination point for First Ladies Harding, Coolidge, and Roosevelt, as well as a watering hole for authors F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway.
I want to go to this: “Jamie Laval’s ”Scottish Solstice Holiday Celebration ” captures the beauty and atmosphere of the Scottish Highlands during the holidays, weaving a tapestry of music, dance, and stories that hearken back to the ancient Celtic celebrations associated with the Winter Solstice and Christmas. An entertaining and thought-provoking family holiday experience.” Tryon looks beautiful and I would love to visit.
We like to metal detect and gold prospect as a hobby. This little town would be so perfect to visit! I like that small town feel and the fact its a railroad town means it has a lot of history, too.
Def the Things to do and under that Coffee shops![:)](/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
it was voted best place to raise children in nc
I love this town. I love that there is a variety of people living there such as artists, musicians, etc. I love that it is casual and layed back. I love that it is small town. Thank you for sharing
I want to go to the Lavender Bistro and try their Mediterranean style bistro serving French, Italian and American cuisine.
I found out that Morris is symbol from when they made wooden horses and shipped them all over the country.
i would love to see the 90′ waterfalls and all the wildlife.
