She Bacame Addicted To Meth

We moved for her father’s job and to get her out of that town, away from Heroin. For the first few weeks she stayed home and was looking into going to college! Then she got lonely and bored. So she went out one night.

She met the worst possible people she could! People around this town are on Meth. I mean, a lot of them! It turned out to be one of the worst places for that drug! We couldn’t believe it. It was devastating!

She started hanging out with Meth addicts, so of course she got hooked on that. It’s one of the worst drugs. It literally changes your brain. With her background, she was immediately addicted. She became someone we didn’t even know. It was 100 times worse than heroin. She would scream and yell about every day for one reason or another. We didn’t want to let her have the car and go places to get that stuff. And when that was said, she went crazy on us. She threatened us and one time even spit on her father. She told me she wanted to just beat me up. She didn’t do that but she felt like she wanted to. It was because she wanted to leave and go get meth. She couldn’t be without it for even a few hours.

 

Several of the people she met had been involved with meth since they were kids. Their parents were addicts so they were always around it. It’s been in this town for a long time and so many people are on it.

Finally we got her into re-hab again for meth, but it did nothing. She went to a couple different ones, but she just wasn’t ready. When a person is a drug addict, they have to be ready to quit, hit rock bottom and know there’s no choice.

I don’t think you want to hear every detail of all this. But to get to the ending, she got caught with meth 3 times and is now in jail. She’s been there for 2 months and court doesn’t happen for another three weeks. Since she has all those charges against her, a prison sentence would be possible. But she thinks her lawyer can get her into the Jail Re-hab. That’s for 6-8 months. So she’ll be in jail for about a year, total. She swears she’s done with all that. She had got to the point of shooting up the meth, which is just so dangerous. Everyone is praying for her now. Even if she gets the re-hab, she’ll be on probation for 3 years. And if she gets caught with it again, she will go to prison. So, hopefully, this will sink in and she’ll see she has to stop. And have a life for herself. She’s so smart, she could go to college and be whatever she wants.

If your child starts being different, getting bad grades, yelling at you and just becomes a different person, please know, something is going on. It’s not just the “teen” years. I hope everyone reads about addiction and finds out what to watch out for. The sooner they get help, the better.
