RSAT Group Outside For 3 Hours In Freezing Temps.
They had to stand outside in freezing temperatures for the store.
RSAT is the jail re-hab, but this is crazy!
My daughter is in RSAT, the jail re-hab. She called me that night and said they had to stand outside for 3 hours to get into the store! It was so cold that whole day! I couldn’t believe they had to do that! It makes me so angry!
It was so cold that there was ice on all the trees, buildings, just everywhere! A ToN of us lost power for several hours. The ice got really heavy on the trees and lines and they were falling down. That’s how cold it was here!
The truck with their stuff they had ordered was late because of the weather. I understand that can happen. But why would they have to stand outside?! She doesn’t have a hat because they haven’t ok’d us to order some clothes for her yet. And they can’t ever have gloves because they are considered contraband! That’s crazy!
Why couldn’t they just have taken a few people at once, and not have to wait that long? Do you agree with me or am I just worrying too much?
Like I said, this is re-hab, not prison! Also, I just found out, they don’t feed them lunch on Friday, Saturday or Sunday! Our daughter has money and buys food there. But some of them don’t have money on their accounts and can’t buy food! So they just don’t get to eat lunch those three days! I just don’t think that’s right.
Before RSAT they’re in jail, waiting to get in. They have “whites” there, undies, long johns, t shirts, etc. Well, they came to get her to transport her there and she had to leave those at the jail. So she has one pair of each, except for long johns. She wasn’t allowed to take those. And guess why? You have to buy them at RSAT! And since we don’t have clearance yet for that, she’s not going to have new “whites” until it’s warm out! (A couple weeks).
I just don’t think these regulations are right! It’s in a very old building and it’s cold inside all the time! So, unless they’re in bed, all covered up, they’re cold all the time!
It’s also called “boot camp” because they wear boots only and they actually have to march whenever they have to go to class or the store or anyplace outside. They have to make their beds a certain way and stand at attention at times. So they are learning to live by rules, which is a good thing. I just think they are carrying some things a little far!
She always tells me not to worry about her. That’s just how she is. But sometimes I tell her I can’t help it! When they have to stand outside freezing for so long. She was shivering on the phone last night!
Well I just hope and pray this place teaches her what she needs to stay clean!
