Let’s Kick Breast Cancer’s A** and Have A Plan
Facts about Breast Cancer in the United States, See Below:
Not only should you get a mammogram! But you should also do a self exam once a month.
The best way to fight breast cancer is to have a plan that helps you detect the disease in its early stages.
-
- One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.
- Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women
- Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death among women
- Each year it is estimated that over 220,000 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 40,000 will die.
- Although breast cancer in men is rare, an estimated 2,150 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer and approximately 410 will die each year.
Create your Early Detection Plan here to receive reminders to do breast self-exams, and schedule your clinical breast exams and mammograms based on your age and health history.
Find the steps to self-exam here with illustrations. They really recommend we all do this. Finding it early, makes it so much better! Have a plan!
Have you talked to your daughter about breast cancer? A family history of certain types of cancer can increase your risk of breast cancer. This increased risk may be due to genetic factors (known and unknown), shared lifestyle factors or other family traits.
Most women with breast cancer do not have a family history of the disease. Inherited gene mutations account for only five to 10 percent of all breast cancers diagnosed in women in the United States. Having a mother with breast cancer increases a daughter’s chance of getting breast cancer. However, just because you have breast cancer does not mean that your daughter will also develop the disease.
I’m doing this to help people and also because my daughter went through breast cancer a little over a year ago. It’s scarey as anything ever! But early detection is key! She’s fine now and cancer free. She had a mammogram and that’s when the lump was detected.
Warriors In Pink is a place to shop and 100% of the proceeds goes to a cancer charity of your choice! Some sites don’t donate as much as they say they will.
One charity is for research, one is for providing direct financial aid, and then one is for free mammograms, resources, programs, or education. Shop now and choose your favorite charity at checkout.
Have you had an experience with breast cancer? If so, I really hope everything turned out ok! And know, you’re not alone! If you’d like you can comment below about what you’re going through.
If you have time, could you share this, so a lot of women can read about this? Thank you so much!
This is not a sponsored post, I just wanted to share it so maybe we can buy what we already need and help out with the research.
